Preschool Philosophy
Our preschool program is designed to provide learning experiences that will best meet the needs of each individual child. Development of the whole child (emotionally, spiritually, socially, intellectually, and physically) is our goal. PLAY is a fundamental part of our program, as it is through play that children learn cooperation, problem solving, language, mathematics, and to develop values, curiosity, self-esteem, coordination, and self-direction.
We believe that every child learns in a different way, especially at this young age, and they should be allowed to explore the world in their own unique ways.
What Parents Are Saying About Our Program
“We cannot say enough about just how amazing Seton Preschool and Seton Catholic School is! We have found a true educational, social and spiritual home for our children and only wish that we had found Seton sooner for our oldest! The preschool program is a true gem with an amazing, dedicated and loving group of educators who dedicate their time and energy to the development of each child. Our children have grown socially and educationally in the program and have just loved the mix of structured curriculum activities and free choice stations to explore with their classmates. They look forward to going to school each day and love sharing what they learn each day with us at the end of the day. Our daughter really enjoyed attending all of the specials – gym, art, technology, music and Spanish – during her PreK-4 year and we have loved the exposure to a variety of educators and curricular content. We have found the community where our children will thrive through their elementary school years.” Christine O. and Denis J. (parents of past PK4 student and current PK3 student)
“We have sent both our daughter and son to Seton and have been extremely happy with the care, instruction and organization of the PK and Kindergarten programs. The teachers have helped our children grow intellectually and socially and have been an integral part in their development. We have also observed other teachers and staff in the Seton community extend themselves and make an effort to know our son and daughter. We appreciate all of the support, guidance and encouragement that Seton has given and we are looking forward to sharing more experiences in the future.” Kirt K. (parent of past PK4 student and current PK3 student)
“We have loved the time our daughter has been at Seton for PreK-3 and PreK-4. The teachers are welcoming and supportive. The communication between the classroom app and take home folder and school emails makes things easier. Our child enjoys the play, prayer and extracurricular classes beyond her classroom. Her teachers have helped her develop greatly in the last 2 years not only with academics but fundamentals too.” Keegan F (parent of current PK4 student)
“As a former preschool teacher myself, I was extremely selective when choosing the first school experience for our child. The classroom environment at Seton is just the right blend of lively and peaceful and our daughter is happy there and eager to return each day. Our teachers are warm and friendly and the daily recap and quick communication made our transition from home to school very supportive. The administration is extremely responsive and always has time to answer questions and concerns. Although it was our plan to have our child attend only a half day for the year, she enjoys it so much that we have started to add whole days to our schedule. Our family is not Catholic, but Methodist, and we were very pleased with the gentle religious instruction. We highly recommend Seton for anyone looking for an inclusive, warm, and developmentally appropriate early childhood environment.” Sarah PF (parent of current PK4 student)
